Cheapest Whole House Water Filter System for under 0 Installed!

Hello Youtube,
Thank you for viewing my video for the cheapest whole house water system you can buy! 0 in parts, filters and supplies and about 0 for an install!

So everyone’s water , well or city contains a different amount of sediment, iron, ph, sulfur which could lead to brown toilets, rotten egg like smells, and hard water were you feel like you are bathing at the beach with sand.
I grabbed one of those free home testing kits from Home Depot and sent in a sample of my water. They said my water was high in sediment (151), and the hardness was around a 9. We then set up to have someone come out to test the water for Iron, PH, sulfar, etc. A Rainsoft Rep came out and tested the water and confirmed the sediment level and hardness. Luckily we had very low levels of iron (.5) and was neutral for PH or sulfur. Again she went on about how hard water can void appliances warranties and such. She recommended the EC4 Series Rainsoft System which would cost 00 and had a 0 annual service fee. This would include someone coming out to flush out and clean the system and put new carbon in the filter. Also had a lifetime warranty. I was not about to pay 00 for a carbon filter and water softener so I did some research.
I also looked into the aquasana and pelican water systems made for the well and these were also expensive at 00 + install 0 = 00!!

This would not include pre filters which was another cost. They also only lasted 5-10 years and then needed the carbon filter to be replaced. I thought that this was a huge upfront cost to get into and asked myself, if I needed to change the carbon filter than I would be out another 0- 0 for another 5-10 years.

So I looked all over the internet for a system and came up with this system. Again this may not work for everyone, but it really helped my water. and was 25% of the cost of other systems. No huge service contract or expensive carbon filters.

I got 3 Dupont 10inch filters (link below) for each. They are ¾ inlets and outlets fyi. I had 1 inch piping and had to reduce the pipes going in and out. Could not notice the drop in water pressure. less than half of a PSI. The kits came with the mounting bracket, wrench to replace the filter, and a 5 micron filter. I put these 3 filters in series with a 5 micron filter, carbon filter, and 1 micron filter. I then have it going to a 33K grain Whirlpool water softner. I have gauges before and after the system to know when I have to change the filters. Again after a month of use, only a 1 lbs pressure drop (2 people in the house). Figure I would change the filter have a 5 pound drop or so. These filters are cheap and can be found on amazon for less than -5 each (links below)If I wanted to go crazy and change the filters every month and add salt, I figure it would cost less than a month or 0 a year to maintain this system.
It has been a month now and the water is very soft and I can drink it from the tap. Cant really tell between bottle water or tap water now. No more stained toilets and slight rotten egg smell for me anymore.

Let me know if you have any questions!
